My Home Decor Style: Minimalist Beachy Whites

I hate moving but when I do, I curate my vibe to match the space. When I lived in a shoebox apartment in Chelsea, it was all hygge and floating shelves (think vertical storage). When I moved to Fidi, I was blessed finally with large windows and lots of natural light, so the aesthetic I immediately wanted to go for was bright, white, and beachy. I swapped a few pieces like my desk and sofa (finally enough space for a proper lounge couch!) and the rest came together with decorative accessories. See below my pieces or similar options to achieve your own at home heaven.

Avondale Chaise Sectional from Crate & Barrel - this couch has been the ultimate luxury, home-life upgrade. I purchased it in the stock fabric shown - Tahoe Fabric in Powder - and it is a beautiful, textured white that is so soft to the touch. It's incredibly stain resistant. In the first year it's been hit with wine, blood, and a few mystery spots that have all come out with an easy wipe down. I did apply a coat of fabric protector after it became obvious this couch would be seriously lived in, but I can confidently say that I am a white couch owner with zero fears of my guests ruining or staining my precious centerpiece. The cushion covers can also be removed to throw in the laundry if seriously soiled. It's the perfect depth for all day snuggles with your loved ones and is so comfortable you will easily lull into dreamy afternoon naps or slumber parties. Crate & Barrel gets a 12/10 on this one.

Mid Century Modern Media Console - mine is from West Elm and I've had it for years, however there are many affordable current models available. Pictured below is a beautiful option, similar to mine, from Home Depot and I also love this one from Kirklands.

Oversized coffee table - I love the grey finish that compliments my floors perfectly. The drawer storage on the side is perfect for urban spaces that need as much storage as possible. It's great for storing pillows, blankets, and other living room stow-away items like room and linen spray, candles, and games.

White desk & chair - I need to keep my work space especially clean and clutter free so drawers are a must for me. I bought this inexpensive desk from Amazon and it tucks away perfectly while still allowing me enough space to spread out with my monitor and keyboard. I also love a swivel armchair so I can sit cross legged and lean on the arms while I work. No, I do not sit still throughout the day!

Pampas - Opt for naturally dried as they have much more body and fill for your arrangement.

Artwork doesn't have to be expensive but frames almost always are. I love Indigo Frame & Mat on Ebay for their quality hand-made frames at an affordable price. I purchased the Coastal Grey but they have a wide

assortment to fit your design style.

White vases - I love both a matte or textured vase and keep multiple stored on display in a floating shelf which allows me easy access when putting out fresh flowers (which I try to do regularly). I don't always have the time (or remember) to pick up flowers, so I have dried flower arrangements throughout my entire apartment that provide a beautiful muted touch of nature at all times. Even when empty, a collection of vases that are similar but different create their own beautiful display whether on a shelving unit, mantle/console, or even on the floor.

Mixed textiles pillowcases - I love layering pillows of different textures and patterns but in the same color family. Uniform pillows are boring to me! Playing with mis-matched pillows also allows me to swap out 2 seasonally for festive tie ins but stay on design to my beach core concept. My always-on textiles are: crushed velvet, Mongolian sheepskin, and leather in range of silver, blues, and brown.

Absolutely LOVE this iridescent blue at Etsy

I love the sense of calm and tranquility that the decor has created for my home. I recommend starting with a color palette of 3-4 varying shades and working from there. The trick is balancing a cohesive color scheme without everything seeming like it's all the same. Whites, blues, and browns worked perfectly for my light, bright, and airy feel.
